Manila Life is a short game, but a week goes fast. These tips are based on how the game's systems work. They will not spoil the surprises, and you will still have decisions to make. If you are new, read How to play first.
The basics that apply to everyone
Eat before you work. Hunger and tiredness cut your pay, so skipping breakfast to save a few pesos can cost you more than it saves.
Leave early when it rains. Late arrival reduces what you earn. On a flooded morning, wading through, waiting for the water to go down and going home each have a different cost, and the right choice depends on how much money, energy and time you have.
Pay your utang before Sunday. Debt grows (tubo), and an unpaid debt hurts your reputation, which changes how neighbors treat you.
Protect Sunday. The family handaan is worth more than a few extra pesos. Family is one of the things the game tracks, and it is hard to rebuild at the last minute.
Cheaper is slower. Walking or taking a jeepney saves money but costs time and energy. A ride-hail car saves energy but costs more. Choose based on what you are short of that day.
Skip the scams. Messages that sound too good, such as the one that asks if you are open-minded, usually cost you pesos.
Tips by character
Call center agent: the night differential is generous, but sleep is the real resource. Protect your energy in the morning, and do not spend all of it on a night out.
Jeepney driver: fuel and the boundary come out before you keep anything. Avoid tickets, and note that bad weather affects your day.
Sari-sari store owner: neighbors will ask for utang. Giving credit helps your reputation, but too much leaves you short when you need to restock at Divisoria.
College student: your thesis has to reach 70% by Sunday. Do some work every day instead of leaving it all to the weekend.
OFW in waiting: the four documents (barangay clearance, NBI clearance, medical exam and agency fee) each take time and money. Spread the runs over the week.
Nurse: long shifts and modest pay mean you must manage energy carefully. Fatigue is the biggest threat to your week.
Delivery rider: rain increases surge pay but makes traffic worse. Tap quickly during the rush minigame and avoid tickets.
Public school teacher: you pay for supplies from your own pocket. Plan what you buy so class progress keeps moving.
Security guard: you must stay awake to keep your pay. Rest during the day and avoid spending the afternoon on a long trip.
Minigame tips
Bayad po! Pass the fare steadily. Quick, small passes work better than rushing.
Para po! Wait for the green zone before tapping, so you get off at the right place.
Tawad: each tindera has her own personality. Listen to the counter-offer. If your offer was close, walking away often brings her back with a better price.
Longer-term goals
Finish the week with as much money and reputation as you can, build your lot fund across weeks, unlock badges in the Collection and come back daily for the pasalubong bonus. See the guide for the full list of characters, places and seasons, and the glossary for the Filipino words used in the game.
